What is a good Temp setting for Freeze protection?

You need to look at where your equipment is. Is it by a brick wall that might retain the heat of the day so make the pump think it is warmer than the outside temp away from the wall. It is right where the wind blows so making it think it is cooler than it really is.

Once you have looked at it with that in mind then you need to pick your temp. With me living in FL but in a slight "valley" between the two properties on either side of us we get a tiny bit cooler than the weather man says. We make sure our pump is on if the temps are going below 35 just to be on the safe side.
