What glue/cement should I use for...

I need to attach the bottom plate (Zodiac part # 1-9-215) to 1.5" schedule 40 PVC pipe. I'm assuming that part is ABS, but I'm not 100% sure.

I picked up some Weld-On 794 at the hardware store on the recommendation of one of the workers, but I figured I should ask the pool experts on here before I started putting things together.

What have you guys/girls used and/or what would you suggest?

Home Depot has this one, which doesn't mention ABS specifically in the title. Is it the same thing?

It should work. Just allow 12 hours before pressurizing.

Description reads includes ABS, both on Home Depot and Oatley sites,

The Oatey 8 oz. All-Purpose Cement is a multi-purpose product specially formulated with solvents and resins for bonding ABS, PVC or CPVC piping systems. Meets performance requirements of ASTM D-2564, D-2235 and F-493.

Use heavy bodied PVC glue to connect the PVC pipe to the valve housing.

Not sure who manufactures it but there is a green glue specifically made for abs to pvc joints.

A internet search for "green glue abs to pvc joints" yields Transition Cement. Oatley and Weld-On make it. Sold everywhere.
