What did you do to your pool today?

I've been doing some cleanup the last few days. Robot has run extra hard this week following a nasty storm on Monday. As of this morning, it's got the sparkle back, and a nice toasty warm 89 degrees.

Ready for our little 4th GTG this after.....

Happy 4th everyone, hope your pool parties are a smashing success today!

 :whoot:

Emptied baskets, swam, read TFP, brushed, swam, read TFP, drank drinks, swam, ate ribs, swam, read TFP, swam, added a little MA, swam, read TFP, need another drink ...

Took the cover off, told the kids the pool was open, listened to the sounds of silence indicating they did not care, put the cover back on 12 hours later. I did remove the propane regulator from the pool heater in preparation for selling it and the new one arriving on Monday. Soon, I will get in this pool again.

Phew! Just got back from a week on the Redneck Riviera.
First time away from the pool since we came online.
Had it tuned in before we left.
Begrudgingly turned on puck chlorinator for the duration.

As soon as the car was unpacked I pulled out my TF100 and headed outside.
Looked ok, but the numbers were what I was interested in...

1.0 FC (Eek! gonna have to turn the puckinator up higher next vacation)
0.5 CC (With the FC so low I had to expect that)
7.9 pH (ok, Spa spillway aerates a little too much, so not unexpected)
70 TA (down from 80, not bad)
225 CH (unchanged)
40 CYA (no change after a week of pucking, cool)

So puckinator switched off, 220oz of 10% Chlorine, 24oz MA and 5-1/2lb Baking Soda later, I should be back in the ballgame.

Well, let's see. I had a family emergency with one of my older son's earlier this week. On Thursday I had to leave the house. Hubby was here, but I did not have time to show him how to test. I was not sure if he even would turn the pump on while I was gone, buthedid do that. Since I knew I was not going to be home until today, I added 5 cups of bleach before I left Thursday. We had a lot of rain so this morning, I vacuumed, had to lower the water level 5 inches, then turned the pump on after cleaning the skimmer basket, SWG cell, and filter basket. Let filter fun for an hour and the tested. FC was 8.5 so my 5 cups of bleach I added did keep it above FC level recommendations. Yay! Hubby did run pump on Friday and for a few hours yesterday.

Needless to say, I never want a repeat of this past week and son is going to be fine.

Did you tell her to SLAM it? and did she say "Huh"?
:) friends are the most difficult to convert.

Lol! I told her I could help her get fixed up, but so many others were chiming in. I posted TFP website twice and encouraged people to take control of their own pools.

At least I can say my pool was greenish because of my own doing and I didn't pay someone to make it green. She has a good sense of humor and said of it was St. Patrick's Day, she would win - haha. I did say I was proud to be a pool chemistry nerd [emoji6]

Tested and as usual, nothing but swim in it and lay around and listen to my killer sound system out there!

I'm hoping to join the killer sound system crowd before long. Last week, as I was getting drug around yard sales by my wife, I found a kenwood receiver, Polk audio center, and some little bookshelf speakers all for $7. At least now I have a good start to the system. Eventually need some good speakers. These should make it through this season just fine.
