What did you do to your pool today?

Did a bunch of stuff around the place, got HOT and dove in 74* water. Wasn't terrible. Brushed it and got in again. Then it rained a bunch. Lake is 10' over! Went from 12' down. That is enough rain already.

Fired up the swimjets and swam for half an hour.
Invited the neighbors over and all our kids had floating water cannon wars.
Satisfying break from hounding a pb.
Day punctuated by brief (10 min) showers.
The big storm front only made it to us after dinner.

Adding chlorine and running pump again this morning. This is a deviation from my normal routine of testing/dosing in the early evening. But, with all the rain and cloudy conditions lately, there's not much concern about sunlight consuming the chlorine. Ya do what ya gotta to do!

yesterday afternoon I pumped out 4 inches of water. My swg red low salt light came on so I added a bag of salt. Light went back to green.

This morning, I pumped out another 4 inches of water from storms last night. Scooped out some oak tree leaves which got blown in by wind and sunk.
Emptied the skimmer. It had a couple of small drownded frogs and lots of june bugs in it.

Gonna have to stock back up on salt this afternoon. Got a jug of CYA standing by. No idea what the CYA level is, but no doubt its gottten low from having to pump so much rain water.
NO idea when the rain will let up either. Forecast is rain everyday ....... and so on. <sigh>

ACTUALLY ENJOYED MINE TODAY! Actually..and I know you'll find this hard to believe...........LOWERED...... my personal standards to 82 degrees on a hot afternoon and piled in. My friends Jimmy, Kenny and Sonos showed up so we called it a party!
We have leftover beer (if there is such a thing) so if the sun is shining, maybe those guys will come back around again tomorrow afternoon.

Just got sick of maintaining this thing with no return on investment and decided to make it my PWB............(pool with benefits).

sounds about like my day! Haven't had to add salt though since my salt overload - teehee. We also made use of more warranty work. Our jandy valve to the spa went put this weekend. We woke up to an empty spa on Saturday ;-). That's three warranty jobs in about 8 weeks.

Verified FC and also added. 1/2 gal. of MA. Huge cloud of vapor looked cool in the lights around the pool on this warm very humid and windless night. Made sure to walk around it back to the house. Water is 78 degrees but no time to swim today. New pool basketball hoop is a BIG hit with the kids.

Since the rain is backing off a bit, I ran the heater to get the pool water temp closer to seasonal norms for late-May. Figured there was no point running it this past weekend with all the rain just to have heated pool water go out the overflow drain and into the alley.

Bumped the heater for a while to get the water to swim temp for the kiddos as a "last day of school" treat. Was at 71 and my SWG finally started producing chlorine. Tested water. All was spot on except for my FC which was still waaaaay high from closing. 17.5 when I need 6 or so.
85 degrees outside and sunny today. 81 degree water. Will open up the cover and let the kiddos burn off some excess chlorine!!
