What did you do to your pool today?

I added a couple pounds of CYA since I got my new SWG hooked up a couple days ago. Added a little baking soda to raise my TA a little to keep my CSI from being sooo negative. Also ran the cleaner for a couple hours. Gonna run it for a couple more hours tomorrow. My beautiful firstborn is having her birthday party tomorrow; three months after her actual birthday. She pretty much said she hated the cold, and wanted to postpone her birthday party until the pool was open and warm. Gonna have a luau party tomorrow. Like father, like daughter. I have no use for the cold if there isn't snow on the ground. Bring on summer.

here ya go.

I think it was JohnT that replied and recommended this to someone who had a broke skimmer basket a couple weeks ago. So I googled it. Cost about 12.00 online I think. I have had this thing in mind since then.
I was driving around the loop today and saw the Les... Pool Store and it reminded me about this thing. So I stopped in to see if they had one, and they did. Cost me a whopping 19.00 at the store tho.. but oh well. I have one now. Will have to see how this does with big leaves in the fall.

Got this a the local pool store for almost 19.00 including tax.
There are considerably cheaper online.. about 12.00 or so, + shipping, so I figured I would just buy the thing locally.

Where did you get it? Are they very expensive?

Patrick, you have to get the Skimmer Sock model.
Oh...OK, thanks Dave! Now how do I work that around my skimmer socks....

Emptied skimmer baskets. Water temp 73. Turned SWG timer down because all this cold, cloudy weather has me over chlorined. Watched it rain into my pool a LOT.

OK,

I'm going to get off here and take care of MY pool this morning. Maybe clean it up a little, but not sure why, we have more storms due in Monday/Tuesday.

EDIT:

Well, I ran the numbers....not so good today.

I'm afraid to tell or maybe I get a visit from the TFP :cop:

Lots of stuff yesterday but the thread is about TODAY.....
Several full body immersion tests to check dampness, the relaxation factor and pool depth; first at 0830.
I was just about to check my previous test results when Harry Belefonte's "Jump in the Line" sparked a spontaneous one man conga line. Okay, back on track now........

======edit======

Thank you TFP for making this so darn easy!!!

After all the rain yesterday slumped all my freshly graded pool surround, I got on the end of a shovel and dug up the our overflow pipe outfall.
Tested water, plenty diluted so a little baking soda, and bleach has us back in the swim.
Tried running our waterfall after the rock guys leveled out the cistern and sealed it with hydraulic cement.
Flow is now even across 4 of the 5 spillways, almost there. But cistern still leaks as does the pressure line. We'll see what we can sort out on Tuesday.

Took solar cover off. Cleaned up flower and fauna from the past week. Brushed walls. Empty skimmers. Polaris 360 doing its thing. Performed all water tests. First time since owning the pool that everything was within range; little/to no recommendations from The Pool Calculator. (Pool is 7 years old!) Thank you Trouble Free Pool!

High expected to be 88F today. Pool water is at 70F. Wonder just how much it will warm up.
