Got my main pool pump replaced under our Home Warranty with a Pentair Whisper Flow 1.5Hp. Not bad for adding the coverage for an extra $150 bucks.

If you can't afford a fence an alligator is a good alternative to keep people out.

All the choppers I caught in the skimmer yesterday

That's like me with pine needles. Luckily the maples and the choppers are a ways away. You need to keep a pail or something close to the skimmer to use when emptying it. I have a small pail I keep handy and them occasionally empty out in the garden and mulch it in.

I was pleased to see my pH was only 7.7 It climbs like a mountain goat, so I've been altering my returns to make the spa spillover less....which seems to be helping.

Cleaned out the newly installed skimmer socks that were 4 for 5 bucks at the local home improvement store. So far they have been the best 5 bucks spent on this pool so far. Hundreds of ants flying into the pool to die and still have lots of pine straw blowing into the pool.

TSGirl, if you want to cut the sweet a little, add club soda in place of about half the coke and it's called a Fast Eddy...and better for ya
