What did you do to your pool today?

I did a break-down cleaning of my DE filter, then rebuilt (new O-rings) all eight of my Jandy NeverLube valves.

Dude 8 valves[emoji44]

Yes, I only did 8 of them, skipped two. I didn't do my solar valve because that would have required removing the actuator and I didn't do a valve that is on my backwash discharge. Oh yes, I forgot there is an 11th one but it only regulates air flow to the spa jets. That's it, 11 Jandy valves total.

So many wonderful stories in the last couples days in this thread! Congrats to all!

I got a new pair of goggles, my first pair with tint, and I did a thorough inspection of the plaster. Emptied skimmer basket. Tested PH and FC/CC. Regular every other day bleach dose, plus an extra 4ppm to handle bathers tomorrow. Quick soft bristle brushing of walls and floor. Adjusted timing screws so pump would run before and during bather use tomorrow.

I don't think I can count to 11 on one hand:(

Drained the pool 3 times last night. Finally decided to use the sump we bought at lowe's. Shudda done that first! It's keeping the water down. Last night before bed I drained the pool down to the bottom of the tiles. We got 6 inches in 2 hours and it just pounded us all night. Pool was to the top and the pump could t keep up

Checked the chlorine levels twice due to 15" of rain. Levels are still good (I had raised it because my 17 mo granddaughter had come over) but I'm sure it overflowed because the overflow drain couldn't keep up. Got some debris in the pool but not too worried about that yet. Am going to add some bleach when I get the chance just to boost the FC up.

Prayers for everyone in Houston.

It's wet here but could be worse...I don't think the heavy stuff is gonna come down for a while...

Mr. T cleaned the pool and I checked chemicals....everything is balanced and perfect.

Tested the water, added chlorine (been a little lax, it's gotten chilly out), scooped leaves, and brushed. I also deflated the pool rafts and put some things away. I'm thinking the only time we will be in now is to vacuum, it's not looking to warm anytime soon. We didn't really seem to get to swim as much this year. When it was hot, it was hot and humid, which brought rain. OUr pool never got above 83 degrees this year, we only swam at night maybe 3 times.

Slowing down for us as well. Kids will be back at school soon. May throw on the heater for this weekend to get a last swim in on the pool, if the weather cooperates. Then it's time to start thinking about clean up and maximizing how fast I can get the pool below 60 into mid-September.
