My Jandy Aqua Pure will be 2 years old next month. It began to leak on the surface of the clear lid last season. A new lid has been ordered under warranty. I had a look at the old one today and noticed that the center electrode plate is chipped away like corrosion. What would cause this? My PM logs are available.

Jodie..

Show us a couple of pics..

Are you sure it is not scale?

The electrodes do wear away, but I would not think you would see this at 2 years old.

Do you use the SuperChlorinate option at all?

How long do you normally run your cell per day and at what output percentage?

Thanks,

Jim R.

Looking back over my PM logs it looks like I run the cell about 30% in May and June and 50-60% in July and Aug. My CYA is usually around 70. I like my chlorine between 6-8.

I have never used Super Chlorinate, if I need to increase FC after a party I use liquid chlorine.

I have a 1 HP Dual Speed pump. I run it on low 20 hrs except for high 4 hours during peek heat of the day.
