What are my options for fixing plumbing for this new pump that doesn't quite fit?

Thanks. I might try building it up with a regular sch 40 adapter, and if that still leaks after drying the PVC I'll glue it in.
Glue the fitting in and you WILL be buying a new valve. Try the Plast-aid, it is an amazing product. But, just don't be disappointed if you still need to get a new valve eventually, because trying to seal a pressure leak with a "band aid" inside or out usually doesn't work for long.
A cracked anything in a pool system needs to be replaced, unfortunately, there is too much movement in the parts as the water flows.

It's still basically permanent either way, once I glue something to that nipple. No? I could leave the threads on the nipple and be able to adapt still, but that's getting quite long, and I already barely have room for the 1.5" npt, 1.5 - 2 reduce, 2" union before I hit the other side of the union. I can remove some of the 2" and move the union left, but I'm hoping to avoid that if I can. If I use the nipple I have to remove a lot of 2" and move the union and redo that section.

If you glue in the nipple, it should be good until you need to replace the valve.

If you leave 3" of smooth pipe, then you can glue twice if necessary.

The first fitting uses about 1.25" and you can cut that off if necessary and still have at least 1.5" to glue again.
