You are really going to like TFP if previous experience has led you to think of that as clear.
Friendly ribbing aside, iron doesn't make water cloudy so while the color might be coming partly from iron the cloudiness is still a contaminate. It might be dead algae, it might be alive, but the important thing is to not let up until it is filtered out and the water is clear. And don't fret about adding water, it needs to be visible for the polyfil to filter it out. As such having the high FC in the water will actually help you get it out of the new water right away.
