Is there a way to setup pump so it could be turned on remotely ideally from phone but a switch inside house could work too, but still use a non-wifi based timer/automation system as the primary method of turning pump on or off?

Essentially I'm trying to find a way to turn pump on outside programmed time if I need to test before timer would kick on without having to be at pool. My internet and power can be spotty at times in the summer so don't know if I trust wifi based system to reset if power or internet went out.

Eventually if this pump dies I might replace with a VSP and could run on low speeds for more time but with shorter seasons not sure it's worth the expense to replace a working pump

Is your pump 120V or 240V.

A creative electrician can wire something up for you. It will be a bit complicated and you need to use a WiFi module that can handle the inductive load of the pump.

The devil is in the details of the pump, automation system, and WiFi switch.

Really I think it is simpler to get a simple WiFi automation system like the Pentair Intelliconnect or something from Hayward.
