Howdy all
My new build gunite pool has been filled for about 6 weeks. We are trying to track down a leak that our builder cannot find. He is bringing in a leak detection specialist but they were not available until the end of May. In the meantime I'm dealing with a small leak and a wet yard.

Today however I noticed dark spots showing up in the plaster where the gunite was a bit weepy before plaster was installed. I was told it wasn't bad and would be fine. It's been 6 weeks since water was put in and they didn't show so I figured all was well. But today I noticed it. Is this a concern? Since there is a leak I'm sure there is water sitting around the outside of the shell but how concerned do I need to be about this?

Thanks for your help. PXL_20220419_121232242.jpg

Please specify what spots you are referring in your photo.
I have circled the area of concern. It is in a bottom corner of the pool. The yard on this side of the pool is also where the water from the leak is concentrated.

Thanks for the clarification.
As best as I can tell from the photo, I don't think that dark area has anything to do with outside water or the leak in your pool. I cannot tell why that area is darker. It could be just an area that has been more exposed than the area around it. It may lighten over time and match the area around it. I don't think it is something to be overly concerned about.
