I wasn't there when they were performing the tests. I know they were here for several hours. Unfortunately the light niche is pretty deep and can't be reached from the deck. He said he got in pool but I think it was to inspect main drain he said if was too cold and could not stay in very long. They said they tested main drain and it appeared fine.

When mine was tested a couple of years ago, the person doing the testing got in a dry suit and had breathing apparatus.

I actually never thought of that! But that has happened once to one of my customers.

Not to be rude.... But this is exactly why you hire someone specifically trained in the industries premier leak detection techniques not a pool company, you get what you pay for.

Being it leaked BEFORE they replaced the liner I would think it has somthing to do with somthing else like a crack in the skimmer, broken main drain, or the most common thing I see is a broken conduit. If it wasn't leaking before they did the liner then yes I would say check all places where gaskets, and new faceplates were put on. I have had a leak where you are talking about once in my career.

I owe you an apology, I read the rest of the thread. I have seen pool guys bust holes in decks, replace skimmers, run new lines, install new liners and not fix the problem, the homeowner is out thousands and the pool still leaks.

Of course it leaked before the liner was changed, why else would you change a liner?

Step seals are a very common leak on new liners, I see 3-4 every week.

All this is just speculation of course until the leak is found.
