Checking to see if I am doing this right. My water is cloudy/hazy after having the pavers cleaned and sealed. Its a water based 2-part urethane that was used where there was a bit of splash during application as its in an enclosed screen. I have the chlorine at slam level of 18 using liquid. Ran the filter for about 24 hours so far (pentair cc200rp single cartridge) using my older filter (which i can toss when done).
The pool is 12x28, goes from 3.5' to 6' deep, about 10,000 gallons.

Is there anything else I should be doing, or does it just need time?

Thanks!

I am now thinking the cloudyness is from all the gunk/dirt/mold blasted off the pavers. I did not run the filter overnight, and noticed more debris settled on the bottom, as I had it spotless two days ago. When I turn on the pool light, the water is not milky but rather full of floating particles. The top part of the water is clear on the steps, getting murky in the deep end. Then I noticed I still had the pump intake set for 75% skim from when I was vacuuming. Just changed it to 75% bottom and will maintain slam levels.

Its clearing up slowly, can easily see a cloudy bottom now, I am only running the filter 12 hours at a time so stuff can sink to the bottom to be vacuumed out.
I am using my backup 7-year-old filter, which has been cleaned all its life with just a garden hose spray. Filter pressure is fine at 10psi, which is the same as the new filter I have on standby.
When I get down to that bit of floating stuff, with no more sinking crud, is it worth giving the old filter a tsp bath or just switch to the new one? Its a single cartridge system so filter cost is not an issue.

Getting better each day with pump 12 hours on and off overnight, nothing else settling to the bottom now, and still running my old backup filter cartridge.
Ran my numbers yesterday: FC 20, CC 0, ph 7.8, TA 100, CH 275, CYA 30, Salt 3000, Temp 64.
As the oclt has always been passing, turned off the swg for a day or two to drop the fc back to normal slam (keeping it there just in case). I also ran a cup of muratic to drop the ph.

Now it could be my imagination, but it seems that muratic helped with the clearing. As my TA is a touch on the high end, dropped in some more to get the ph to 7 and now aerating. Worst case it was just my imagination but I could do with getting my TA to a better level anyway.

Getting close and starting to run out of pop! Well over 90% there, shallow end is clear, can see the deep end bottom and make out the blue/white finish speckles, but still a touch cloudy/hazy and can especially still see the floaties at night against the pool light.
Just hosed the filter cartridge and also filled the skimmer basked with polyfill (as when I was aerating was getting very minor surface bubbles, still could be some cleaner left over still to be eaten by the chlorine).
Will run it this way for several more days to a week, but just in case have been researching clarifier (as I have a filter cartridge that I will be tossing anyway). I see HTH has one based on 2oz per 10,000gal using a cationic polymer, there is a clorox clarifier, or try that pool firstaid stuff. But will see where I am in a week before putting anything else in the water.

I would not use a clarifier and just be patient and let the water clear over time. It is going in the right direction. What is the rush?

Staying the course. It seems this last bit is taking the longest to clear.
5 days running with the polyfil in the skimmer basket, the polyfil is still clean, pulling it out so I don't have to play with the floating basket each night.
Also pulling out my 7 year old filter cartridge (I feel its pulled everything it could) and putting in the new 2 month old Pleatco. Nothing has settled to the pool bottom for several days now. Its all just very fine particles left, mostly hovering near the bottom. Cant see it in daylight (there is no sparkle yet), only night with the pool light or flashlight. If I splash the top, could still be some soap left as it will bubble but now dispurses really quick in about 7 seconds.
I am also going to a 8-10 fc range, pulling back from slam as oclt has been fine for 2 weeks. Will leave it on automatic and see what it looks like in another week!

Just a few days with the new filter cartridge got the last few % out. Water is now clear and sparkly down to the deep end bottom. Can't even tell there is water there at night with flashlight shining into the deep. I am all set, just need to wait for the water to warm up in April.
