Water gunite

Gunite was done on Monday. I began to water it about three hours after it was completed. Temp was about 80 degrees.
I have been watering it at least 3 to 4 times per day.
Did I start too soon? Is it going to be a problem with its strength?
Am I overwatering it? Temperatures have been between 65 and 80 degrees.
Any input will be appreciated.

You cannot over water it.

American Shotcrete Association recommends a minimum of 7 days of continuous (not just a few times a day) wet curing to help control shrinkage issues, increase strength and reduce permeability.

I will be on job sites during Shotcrete application and actually watering the shell as the crew is still applying product on the other side of the shell, surface saturation dry is your goal.

Your goal for hydration of the shell is Saturated Surface Dry, the surface feels damp, but water is not picked up on your hand. During summer months this is harder to achieve and temperatures can reach high enough to deform plumbing pipes. Keeping the shell over hydrated is far better than under hydrated.

The product will not absorb any more water on the surface from being completely hydrated with no standing water.
