So 3 years ago we removed our concrete pool deck and replaced with pavers and installed a new liner. When the pool is in use and there is a lot of splashing from jumps and dives, I get a bubble behind the liner that takes days to a week to go away. The bubble will be in the area where the most splashing occurred, so not the same spot every time. The pool company said there is nothing to seal, but I can clearly see gaps between the liner track and the bottom of the coping pavers. Anyone have this issue?IMG_3528.jpeg

How wide is that gap?

I would stuff foam backer rod in the gaps. You can get it from 1/4" to 1" thickness. So get what fits best.

The gap probably fluctuates from 0 to maybe 1/4” - 3/8” max. This is a great idea. I’ll give it a try… wondering if it needs to be caulked afterwards or not. The closed cell foam may be sufficient by itself.

I would try just the foam without any sticky caulk and see how it works.

You may need to use different thicknesses if the gap varies.

If the foam gets dirty just pull it out and replace it. It is inexpensive to maintain.

The 3/8” foam backer rod fit perfectly, very snug, plus it is nearly invisible… looks like it was already supposed to be there. Well test it out this weekend and see if I get any bubbles behind the liner or not. Thanks for the recommendation! And it only cost about $20 and 20 minutes of my time.
