I backwashed my filter a couple days ago and ever since then water is coming out of the backwash/waste pipe when it is in filter mode. It isn't a huge amount of water but it is enough that I can see that the water level in the pool has gone down a little. I have a 300lb Hayward sand filter. Does anyone know what might be causing the problem?

until you get a chance to take it apart to check the gasket, you might try moving the valve handle a hair either way to see if that works. the tab on the handle still needs to fall into the slot though. that worked for me several times in the past. you can drain water pretty fast with a leaky gasket. of course before moving the valve handle, turn off the pump. also best to rotate handle in one direction, either clockwise or counter, just do it the same way all the time. i put an arrow indicator on mine so i wouldn't forget.
