Hi all, been lurking for awhile, moved into this house about a year ago with a 16x32 vinyl IG. Followed TFP recommendations all last season and had crystal clear water all season! I noticed towards the end of the season last summer a circular spot in the liner about 24” wide where it was bulging out about 1/2-1” with water behind it. I looked for small holes in that area but the water level has never really dropped indicating a leak. I am thinking it might be ground water because I noticed it tends to be noticeable a few days after a rain, and when we have several days of dry weather it will go away. I opened the pool this week (we had rain two days ago) and I noticed the spot is still there. Is this something I should worry about? And is there any way to really fix this short of removing the concrete and solving drainage issues in that area? Here is a picture looking straight down the side of the pool, you can see it’s slightly bulging out. Also a picture with the area circled in red. The pool is at the bottom of a slope down from the house. Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately there's probably not much you can do now unless you tear-up some decking around the pool to install a drainage system. Since you seemed to rule-out anything plumbing or leak relayed, I suspect the moisture flows downhill from your house and makes its way between the liner and wall. You could try speaking to some local landscape or county environmental specialists in your area, but I don't know if trying something like a French drain concept around the outer perimeter of the decking that far away would help. At least your soil is absorbing the water for now.
