Want to Replace Motor before it Goes Out

My pool motor is 7 years old. There is just a little bearing noise when it starts up. I was thinking of replacing just the motor (not the pump) now while it's still working so I am not caught by surprise now that is summer in Arizona. I don't want to go to variable now. Just the motor.

Do you think this is a good idea? Who has the best deal on a like for like motor?

In my experience as a mechanic, bearing noises never get better, only worse.
