I had the pool renovated this year - and since i was going to have all new lines put in - I asked for a sunction side (vacuum port).. It is in ground, steel sided, vinyl liner.. is there an adapter for the vacuum hose? In the wall there is a threaded fitting with a screen that screws into the fitting when not in use.. but my pool hose just sort of stays in the fitting by suction, but can easily fall out while vacuuming..
Is there an adapter that can screw into the wall fitting and the hose attaches to it?

thanks

Try the "Vac Lok." It is designed for suction-type pool cleaner hose, but may hold your hose in place because of the tension from the spring-loaded cover and the small "tooth" that will hold a suction-cleaner hose in place.
This is a generic copy. The slot is for a screwdriver to open the cover if it snaps shut (the Lok portion) as it is a safety cover to prevent suction entrapment if that port is active and there is no hose in it.

Unfortunately, a regular vacuum hose end may not fit into the opening.
Also a vacuum-hose adapter could be inserted, but it would need to be each time you vacuum.
