Hi all,
My in-ground 18x34 vinyl pool has wrinkles on the stair step, which I believe is attributable to the prior owner's use of a floating chlorinator. A tear developed along one of the wrinkles and the pool is losing quite a bit of water. I suspect it is time for a new liner--given the location of the tear, it seems hard to expect a vinyl patch to hold up for more than a short while--but it would be good to stop the leak if I can since it will probably take several weeks before I can get bids from contractors and have the liner replaced. What might I use to patch this thing for now? I could drain the water below the first step and lay down some silicone caulk, PC11, or something similar. What would you do? Also, would you try to eek one more season out of this one or throw in the towel?
Thanks,
John
