Vinyl liner versus Fiberglass

I have been hoping to have a smallish pool installed in my back yard. I have researched and really wanted fiberglass (in Georgia) but no one around will do that. They only do vinyl liners. One company that is highly recommended uses cinder style block but made out of a kind of resin, but fills the holes with rebar and cements. The bottom is a mix of sand and vermiculite, but it is a vinyl liner. They don't use steel walls because they're big proponents of salt water systems. Has anyone ever had a pool installed with this type of wall? I'm a single grandma trying to keep my grands happy.

HI there Grammie, many Do It Yourself types have made vinyl lined pools as you describe. I've never heard of a pool builder business using that method....?

I really like my fiberglass pool. I wish my builder worked down there near you as I had a totally positive experience with our build and would love for you to have one too.

Keep looking and asking around locally. Do you know others with pools you could get references from? Anyone you know ever have a pool built this way you could see?

Thanks for your response, Maddie. Everyone I know around here with pools have one with a vinyl liner. I will ask the man I've chosen again about fiberglass, but any company I've contacted that works with fiberglass doesn't put pools in around my area. I have never gotten a reason why. I just think fiberglass would be much smarter.
