Yesterday afternoon the pool company finished installing the new vinyl liner, cutting out and sealing the returns and skimmer plate, tucking the corners, and removing the vacuums. The pool was filled to 1/2 inch below the bottom of the plastic steps (which we also had "refinished") in the shallow end when they arrived. Upon completion, I was advised to continue filling and quickly the water came up over the top of the 1st step.
Yesterday evening, after 4 hours continuing to fill the pool, I notice that the water level was about 1/4 inch below the bottom of the steps again. It will not fill further and so I contacted the pool company and shut off the water. This morning, the pool is still about 1/4 inch below the steps. The leak seems to be occurring at the steps and it's leaking faster than the hose can fill.
How should we go about "confirming" that the leak is indeed at the steps? Will this require an entirely new vinyl liner install?
