Vinyl liner calcified and leaking

Hi everyone! New here, so if this thread already exists I apologize.

My vinyl liner has calcified and apparently shrunk. I have a horrible leak but I've been all over the pool and cannot find a hole anywhere. My question is, could the calcium have degraded the liner enough to the point of seepage? Can the integrity of the entire bottom have been compromised? I am not looking forward to spending nearly 2k to have a new liner installed. (We did it ourselves last time and decided that would never happen again 🤣)

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to TFP.

How old is your liner?

Was your liner sitting without water in it?

How does a liner get calcified?

The liner could have developed pinholes from stretching.

The liner is only about 3 years old but it's thinner. Yes, it did sit with no water for about a day before I realized there was a leak/leaks. We are on a well, that's why I'm thinking calcification. It started last year, the bottom of the pool felt like a pumice stone around the outer edge.
