Hi, I'm a new member on this site. I am in the process of hiring a pool builder for a new vinyl lined in-ground pool in Greenville, SC.
A few builders use poured concrete walls. The others use a steel frame , cost is similar. Are there any distinct advantages
of one system over the other. Thanks in advance for your help.

I was thrilled to find out my pool was concrete walled when the liner was replaced for that reason.
no rust issues. Not only that but no vermiculite to deal with either. The entire thing is concrete.
I'd very much recommend this.

You'll find that each vendor will say their method is best... personally we just chose concrete over steel for a few thousand more. My biggest driver was that we want to do patio right away. You are more limited with how much you can tamper soil around steel walls vs. concrete. Good luck!
