Very high pressure with my DE filter

Stand outdoors. Sun to your back. Fill to the first line. Hold at your waist in the shade of your body. GLANCE down the tube. If it looks like the picture "end test" below, at A GLANCE, you are done. Take the number next to the line and add 10. That is your CYA. Still see the dot, fill to the next line, if it looks like the picture, take the number from that line and add 10. Repeat until it looks like the pic below, take the number at the line, then add 10.

Regarding the CYA test, the directions that came with my kit do not say to add 10. The black dot finally solidly disappeared just under the 30 mark today, say 32.
My test kit directions say "The gradation closest to the fill level indicates your CYA reading," nothing about add 10. So is my CYA at the point of the small tube where the black dot disappeared, 32 (or 30) or is it add 10 to be 42 (or 40)?

On another matter, because I don't want to make a mistake with my pool at this point (it's been a lot of time, work and money so far this season), yesterday's sundown FC was 15.5 and today's before sunrise is 9.5. Am continuing SLAM and if so I need to know what CYA I am using to do that? Or am I just maintaining FC at my new normal 5.5?
Does any algae survive 15.5 FC? Oh and my CC is 1 today from 2 yesterday.

Im sorry I didn't follow up. I did the Overnight Chlorine Loss test and determined I needed to continue the slam process which got my pool on track. It's been great since I got everything balanced after the slamming. Thank you for the help. Probably won't be the last time I ask.
