Hi, had my IG pool liner removed and replaced late last year. During this summer I’ve noticed more than several small hard mounds under the liner. Most are along the downward sloping portion of the floor in the deep end. Some of these are smaller than a penny in size while others are larger than a half dollar in size. The pool company that installed the liner and patched a small section of vermiculite told me to hit these clumps down with a hammer. Anyone out there have any advice on this situation? Thanks

Welcome to TFP.

Have you tried hitting a few of the bumps with a hammer? I think it will be difficult getting much force into the strike underwater. And I might try first with a rubber mallet.

Thank you. I tried hitting one small bump with a hammer and was able to flatten it. This one appeared to be sharp and almost piercing through so I’m going to apply a patch over it just to be safe. I think I’ll try hitting the other bumps with a mallet instead. I wonder why this happened and whether or not it will continue after I smooth out all the bumps.
