Vacuum pressure

Hi all!

I'm noticing that when I vacuum on filter there is almost no pressure at all. The only way I can get suction is by putting my filter on Waste and vacuuming as quickly as I can.

Is there anything I should be checking to maximize suction? I do wish I could vacuum on filter more often so I don't stress out to do it so quickly.

Thanks:)

That sounds like a dirty filter.

On waste you're using exactly the same suction side plumbing from vacuum head to pump and it works. Therefore it's okay. But on filter it doesn't work. What's changed? Filtering. I think it's too much resistance in the system. The intake resistance from the longer skinny twisted hose and the clogged filter combined are more than the pump can handle. With no resistance from the filter, it works.

So backwash the filter. Maybe even try Deep Cleaning a Sand Filter

Thanks Richard I'll try first thing in the am and see if things improve. That makes totally sense actually! I'm reading through the link you posted, never knew I had to rinse after backwash. Will follow the steps.

Also How long is backwash supppsed to be? Unfortunately I don't have A pressure gauge to see when it's back to normal...I usually do 3
Mins.
