I have an 18 x 52 above ground Intex pool and when I plug my vacuum hose in the suction is great at first and then diminishes 2 less than 1/2 why is this?

Could be couple reasons:
- Filer begins to get dirty restricting flow
- Water in hose can't keep up with pump pull (demand)
- Air in lines
