vac if see nothing?

So is it necessary to vac the pool if you see absolutely no debris on the bottom?

Thank you.
Necessary? No. You can brush towards your drain to help clean up debris you may not be able to see. I usually let my Polaris cleaner take care of larger debris. I only vacuum a couple of times per year, primarily because it’s kind of a pain to haul the vacuum out of storage and fill the hose with water.

en,

I agree with Jark, but here is a pic of what can actually be in the pool without you having a clue...

The following pic shows what was picked up by a fine filter basket, "after" my cleaner ran with the standard basket.. I was amazed...

Thanks,

New Finer Basket...jpg

en,

Kind of has the consistency of baby poop... but is really very fine dust or sand..

Impossible to see when in the pool. I ran the robot several times and each time, I got less and less. I assume it just built up over time.

Now I only get a little bit every time I run the robot

I guess my point is... just because it looks clean, does not mean it is actually clean.

Thanks,

Jim R.

En,

I don't think it is pollen, but maybe?? I think it is more likely dust/very fine sand.

I suspect that my original filter basket did not pick it up, so it just built up over time.. When I used the very fine filter basket for the first time, I got the lb. of 'mud' that you see in the pic.

Now when I run with the new filter basket, I get very little of the 'mud' any more..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Yep. There’s always something in my pool. It’s surrounded by large trees with lots of birds, bugs and other animals around. It will never be spotless. But I’m not going to sweat it because there’s no way to prevent it. As long as I’m maintaining my FC levels, I know I’m good to go. It’s way better than the lakes I grew up swimming in!
