UT New Build - Update (start up 5/21)

I’m doing white. I want the tiles to pop. When I told the tile lady I wanted white grout she said, well, we’ll have to see what your plaster color is. My thought was, no, it doesn’t matter what my plaster color is because I want white grout 😂. I emailed her last night about some things and confirmed I wanted white grout. When she wrote me back she said, I want to confirm that you want white grout. What the heck!?! YES! I’ve already told you that 😜. Twice! But you’ll need to decide if you want to see the individual tiles or want them to blend together.

Haha 😂 that’s great. I agree with white making the tile pop. My only concern is if it would be hard to keep clean. Guessing we will end up doing a lighter grey or white.

Loving the tile!!! A light gray will still allow the tiles to pop if you are worried about keeping white clean.

They are doing a good job on the bullnose! Make sure to check at the end of the day to make sure they slack off when they are tired.

Updated Tile Progress. I waited for the daytime to get pictures. The waterline tile is all done. Still working on steps and elevation tile and the rest of the automatic cover track. They will then finish off the water feature and coping next week. We are thrilled with how it's turning out. Probably picture overload, but oh well.

Looks great. I guess the tent is keeping the snow/rain out, but man.... 45 degrees here in the Valley is crazy warm.
@sl7vk I know, this winter been so strange. Yeah, it about 75 in the tent. They have the heater hooked up to my gas and it been running non-stop for 4 days. We will see what that bill looks like at the end of the month. Are you still waiting on your renderings? I can't wait to see them.

That tile is super nice. I couldn't see anywhere, but are they glass tiles? The combination is beautiful. and LOL to them continually asking you if you want white.
@stack24 Thank you. Yeah, they are glass tiles but they are frosted so they have a bit of a different glass tile look.

We have coping (at least half of it) It is awesome to see it start coming together. Today's progress: finished all the elevations and step inside tile, half of the coping installed, waterfall and top coping installed, and trimming for the auto cover box.

What great pictures! That tile is stunning. I can't wait to see it with plaster/water. Coping looks great! At least they're getting everything done while the tent is still up.
Thanks, @Sollace. Glad they are getting it done also, that heater been running 24/7 since Wednesday last week. It's kind of loud at night so I feel bad for the neighbors behind me. Hopefully just a couple more days.

Coping finished, tile grouted, and cleaned up most the mess. We went with white grout because our PB said if we did grey it looks a bit funny where the plaster and grout meet, plus we were leaning white anyways so didn’t take much to convince us.

Looks gorgeous! I'm glad you went with white. I think it was calling for white 😉. When I was looking at pics of your skimmer it made me question mine. Our skimmer comes down lower than our tile 🤨. There are almost 4 rows of those tiles in it. I wonder if it's because it's a Venturi 🤔? I think it looks funny but once water is in I won't see it.
