Using Pool Math with BioGuard Products

That pro kit seems to be a bit much for me — I am only one my first month of pool ownership. Would you recommend the other one on the list you sent?

If you're talking test kits, the TF-Pro is the best deal given the amount of reagents you get and the nifty case and SmartStir. You don't need the SmartStir but after about the third test you'll wish you had it. Don't buy the salt test or the pH meter. Having a good test kit and following the TFP method will pay for itself many many times over versus getting pool stored. Spend a bit now to save a lot later.

What chlorine would you recommend?

Liquid chlorine or get a Salt Water Chlorine Generator. Do not use tabs or that stuff you're using now.

Just curious, why not purchase the pH meter? Again, I am only a month into pool ownership and am trying to learn as much as possible.

It's just not a very high quality meter, and testing pH with the normal comparator is easy and plenty accurate for our uses.

Purchased the pro test kit. They are out of stock on the smart stir but replaced it with another item similar to it.

Dumb question, but each year now I only need to replace the items in the kit (liquid) I’m using to test the chemicals?

I find the reagents are good for at least 2 years if stored at room temperatures. By then you are likely running low on some liquids.
