On the pool we just finished the pool builder skimped on the pool filler. It actually looks exactly like a very old style toilet filler: platsic ball on a rod that is bent to turn water on/off, but in reality if always ALMOST off, but does not shut off totally, just hisses and dribbles water in. We can hear it some days, all day long.

What is the BEST autofiller that I can retrofit?
Thanks!

Here is a picture of whats currently there. Can this be retrofiited without removing the sleeve

I've tried bending the wire downward and it works for a day or two, then goes back to the same thing, except the water level is lower

The brass units are more expensive, but tend to have better service. Look in your paperwork, or on the lid to the autofill and post brand and model of the autofill...we can help you find the right one.

I have that same type. It has always just dribbled. There is no way to get it to overfill enough to close off the float completely.

I installed an automated valve on my water feed and have it programmed to operate for an hour each day. I adjust that time depending on time of year.
