Upside-down Swimming Pool!

Would it be strong enough? What about an earthquake? Insulation? Electrical and plumbing? Seems like we could have come up with a better way to build a house than what we do now. Not sure this is it, though.

Maybe in other areas of the world they care less about things then in CA.

It is probably a tough, fiber reinforced fabric.

It does not matter if the fabric gets a few puncture holes because the air blower keeps a constant pressure like a kids bounce house.

The dome idea is interesting, but I can't help but snicker at it. Reminds me of the joke about the aliens observing a man trailing his dog on a leash, and picking up after him, and the aliens confuse which one is the dominant species of the planet.

Same aliens zoom in across the street and wonder why these poop-butlers, who have easy access to the water covering 71% of the planet, choose to hide some in their backyard, but then cover it up so no rain can get to it!!

They then decide to forgo first contact, "Let's split. These weirdos are definitely not ready yet!"

First I laughed. Now I’m a little intrigued. I wonder if there are people who have actually done it?!

I’m planning on building my next home out of all my kids’ leftover LEGOs. We have enough for a house with a fully landscaped (plastic plants) garden … and the best part is that everything is accessible by making the LEGO claw hand …

If you want an add on after you’re done, I can send you our legos as well. Maybe for a pool house or whatever you feel is missing.

That's funny. I was just looking at the wall of plastic storage boxes overflowing with Legos I have in a closet. I need that space. Then I remembered how I felt when my mother gave away my HO train set without informing me. I'm still mad at her, decades later! So I figure I'll have to ask permission to move 'em out. But even that might be met by "the face." You know the face.

We’ve stayed at the LegoLand hotel many times … it’s awesome!
It was awesome. I put the kids in that one and then stayed at the Best Western clear on the other side of the park. Everybody was happy! I could only go about 30 minutes at a stretch in the Legoland hotel before sensory overload! 🤪 There's an entrance to the park on that other side.

It's gunite or shotcrete.

You can make it thick enough and use 5,000 psi concrete.

The rebar helps as well.

There are several methods for making concrete building including form and pour and even "Printing".
Cool. How much more for a stucco-like finish? The aesthetics aside, I would not want to have to keep one of those exteriors clean. Or paint it.

I didn't watch all the videos. Was there any insulating going on? Or do they just rely on the concrete? That's not very good insulation, is it? I have a buddy that is building concrete homes, but its integrated with some type of foam for insulation. The R values are off the chart. He's building his current one with a swimming pool built the same way, with foam in the walls. I can't wait to hear how that works out, and how the pool retains heat.

Did any of the videos mention cost relative to stick-built?
