I have some old Compool automation and planning to upgrade to a iAqualink RS

Compool to iAquaLink Conversion Kit

2 questions :
1. sometimes i need to fill the spa with regular pool water - Can i program that into the iAqualink and to a button on the app ?
2. Whats the hole in the left of the panel picture - does the salt generator controls go into the hole on the left of the panel ?

thanks

Hi,

Yes the hole on the left is for the salt generator controls. It will be covered by the power panel cover (unless the knockout for the control is also removed) As for programming, yes you should be able to set that up, you can set up 6 (I think from memory) one touch operations, each operations can control any of the components that the Aqualink can control, so I have one set to "spa" that turns the JVA's to the correct position, turns on the spa light, sets the VS pump to the desired speed etc etc.

The main panel has as "spa fill" and "spa drain" mode on it, and you should be able to set that on the app too

Awesome thank you so much.

On the SWG controls on the panel : so do i have to buy a Jandy SWG to make it compatible with the main panel ?
any suggestions on what to buy ? I am also in the market for a new SWG system as well

thanks again.

I'm no expert, and I went against the advice from my PB and the guys on here, who said stay away from Jandy SWG's I literally just yesterday installed the Jandy PLC1400 into my system. I replaced the old power center with the AquPure one that has the SWG main board built into it. I really wanted total automation so that is why I went with the PLC1400, as 4 months ago I did the iAquaLink upgrade from the old PDA to the new 2.0 with the phone app, and did not want to throw that money away. If I had my time again I would have gone for the Pentair system end to end, I really don't like the iAqualink app.

That said to answer your question the PLC1400 is only rated to 40k gal, from your sig your pool is 39k gal so whilst technically in the range, you would probably find that you have to run the SWG at 100% 24/7 to keep up with FC needs. To get it to work you would either have to by the mini AquaPure power panel Model: APUREM, and the PLC1400 cell, or go the route I went and get the 6614AP-L power center that has the breakers and the AquaPure bored built in, you would still need the PLC1400 cell as well.
