I am under contract for a house with a pool and was curious on some information on this control system and options/costs to upgrade. I used to have a ProLogic that I was able to add a Wifi adapter to and use a really bad Hayward app to monitor and control it remotely, hoping to do something similar at least but would love to go as modern as possible if I need to upgrade anyways.

This seems to be a Jandy AuqaLink RS4 - looks pretty old. The pump is a Pentair VS Pump and a Pentair 400k BTU heater. Pump and Heater are pretty new, the Filter is a Hayward and seems pretty old. I'd like to get color changing lights for the spa and the pool as noted above and be able to control everything remotely via an app. There is a AquaRite Salt Cell as well. Pics included, all seems to run fine just seems very old and unsure if I can add anything to access remotely. Also have another thread to add a spa pump, which I would want to be a part of this system.

You have a choice - you can upgrade your Aqualink board to support remote communications or you can replace the Aqualink with a Pentair IntelliCenter.

You have a mutt of pool equipment - Jandy automation, Pentair VSF pump, and Hayward SWG. Those work best when they are from the same manufacturer.

In addition, your pump CB is not GFCI, which the current code requires for safety.

Your Pentair VSF pump is the only good modern piece of pool equipment. Everything else will require replacement soon.

Jandy Aqualink requires a complete board replacement. You need the Jandy IQ30-RS kit that gives you a new Aqualink board and WiFi antenna. You still have your old panel and need to replace your pump CB.

The Pentair IntelliCenter would give you a new modern control panel, with color touchscreen controls, over-the-air firmware updates, and built-in networking. It will then be able to control your VSF pump speeds and it can control a Hayward Aquarite SWG.

I ripped out my Aqualink and replaced it with an IntelliCenter a few years ago, and I am pleased I changed all my equipment to Pentair. See...

Once you decide on your automation system direction, then you can see what color-changing lights the panel supports...
