Updates on Equipment backorders may2021

I am hoping this c an be a place where those in the know can shed some light on equipment backorders. I am wanting to order Pentair equipment but after 30 hours, literally searching site after site, call after call, back order notification after another, I am tired of looking. If you are in the industry, If you are a Pentair dealer, relative of the COO, etc. and have some knowledge can you please shed some light on SOME kind of time frame for the productions and shipping of equipment. Thank you

What portion of the Pool Industry do you work in?

Polytec Pools has been a reference we make. They also are having equipment shortages. And only ship certain items.

Most Pentair products were back ordered 3-7 months as of April. This isn’t formal information but gleaned from numerous posts.

I have been relying heavily on polytec they have been great. I listed us as in industry because husband is construction manager. Has built a 1m city park splash pad with loads of features etc . He has not built a pool so I did not want the impression that we had never built. Mike does have a lot of knowledge and access to engineering etc. to put us in a category of suburban white collar not knowledgeable would be misleading and we would get some very basic information we may not need. Probably should not be catagorized as a pool builder either or pool repair We are just somewhere inbetween and needing to gain knowledge hence joining this forum. Wish they had more than just pool industry or not. We are now , knee deep lol. Apologies if the catagorization is misleading.

Hey Lisa !! My struggles are listed in the thread below. I tried all angles of approach. The web, on the phone, in person. I can’t even guess how many calls and emails went unanswered. 100 maybe ? Like you said it felt like I invested a full work week spread out over a couple of weeks.

The multi faceted approach eventually worked and it took getting lucky at all 3 angles. Each produced one piece of equipment.

The equipment struggle is real / 2 steps forward 1 back

You may have some luck but supply was already extremely tight because of record pool building in 2020 and 2021 and global shipping constraints. The Texas storm just made the problem a lot worse.
