Update - Water In - Final pieces remain South Jersey Build

Re: UPDATED - Concrete Poured on SJ Build - Pictures included

Oh man..... Frustrations seem be going around today! Nope... it's not a full moon.

If you can't rant here, where can you???? Feel free to, anytime. I think the closer we get to being finished with something, the harder it is to wait. I have so much left on my pool that it's not hard to wait. But when you can almost feel that water splashing around you, well... It's like going to bed early on Christmas Eve. How many of those Christmas Eves did I try to stay away all night?! It sure didn't make the time pass any faster.

Thank goodness time does march on and your pool will be finished. Hang on a wee little bit longer! Take care and Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Suz.

We started on this VINYL inground build April 28th! Ok rant over. Sorry

I know I'd be dying to get it filled, but its been less than a month, not really that bad for a build. Mine took 5 months from start to finish, but it was filled by Memorial day so I had it when the weather warmed up. Hope everything goes smooth and it's done on the 1st.

Karyn,
they are waiting on putting the bottom in until the liner arrives. They are doing you right by waiting for now.

If they go ahead and do the vermiculite bottom...and it rains, it will be a total mess and you will likely not be happy with the end result. Its hard enough to do vermiculite as it is without having to battle mother nature. Ideally, the vermiculite bottom will be put in and given just enough time to dry and harden. Then the next day the liner goes in and they start filling with water that same day. Cross your fingers for good weather!

ps,
I dig the deck, its gonna look great when finally finished. Start planning now for July 4th party!

Just seems so close, yet so far away! Feel like breaking out in song haha

Also the husband is dying with so many boxes in the garage lol . There isn't much room left to move. And today I found the cutest planters to match our daybed. I absolutely must stop spending but it is just so much fun!

Divin Dave

Totally get that part but at least do the grading or plumb the waterfall and get that all out of the way!?

I'm just so impatient ha! Also looking forward to the replacement of our fence - our dog hates doing his thing on a leash! He prefers privacy

Karyn: You may want to look into an option for your pool hand-rail. It is called Kool Grips. It is a zip-on cover for the hand rails. It keeps the rail from being a hot potato on little hands. You can locate them from several sources on the web, and coming in many lengths, made of a material similar to wetsuits. It works great on rails and also hides the stainless shine and reflection. I have one that is a brown and almost matches most decks really well. They also come in a blue. Just a suggestion for you to look into since you have young swimmers. Some PB's carry them, but I found them for less by buying direct

Had a great talk with the pool builder who updated me on all aspects of the remaining steps here. The vinyl was ordered and the design submitted for approval - they were going to review and return last night.

The waterfall is being build and should be done by friday - the waterline is going to be run tuesday and all grading around the pool will be completed then as well.

I know a lot of you had grading on the rest of your yard handled at the same time since he damage is already done and you could alleviate future issues or make more usable space.

I didn't consider this at all - should I have?

Also as was statues earlier the vermiculite will go in the day before the vinyl so likely we are at June 1 unless the vinyl is done really quickly - also my two speed pump isn't in yet but should be this week.

Apparently there is only two plumbing lines running to my pump - shouldn't there be more than that?

Re: UPDATED - Concrete Poured on SJ Build - Pictures included

okay I want a video of when they find they have "painted" themselves into a corner! How will they get out???

LOL

Kim

Kim It is SO funny you said that. My father in law just sent me a video of them painted dead center into the middle of the deep end with the ladder coming up. He narrated it - it is SO funny. I wish I could post it!

They have to work downhill...they will use a ladder...same thing my guys did.

You were absolutely correct!
