Uneven suction

I have a 2.5 hp pump that has two skimmers. They are inline because of an amateur pool builder so the one closest to the pump has more and almost all the suction and the further one almost none

is there a regulator or flow device one can screw into the bottom of the slimmer hole to regulate the flow to the closer in so more can come from the further one?

Or some other solution ?

Not sure if this will work but maybe a reducer bushing in that skimmer say to 3/4" so the other skimmer gets more pull. Pictures of your setup may also help us help you better.

Assuming the skimmers are not connected to the main drain, wouldn't a float/diverter valve with an equalizer flap work?
