Chemistry question. They say liquid chlorine burns off faster than stabilized tabs. But why? If you have normal CYA levels in your pool, wouldn’t that bind to the liquid Chlorine and thus stabilize it? Why not?

Yes. If you have CYA in the pool, it binds to the chlorine and stabilizes it.

Sounds like uniformed pool store scare tactics to get you to buy trichlor and dichlor instead of using liquid chlorine.
