I want to replace the burnt out pool light with an LED. I saw a few how-to videos and everything seemed pretty straight forward. However, when I got to my pool light, it doesn't look like any of the ones I saw on the videos. I'm looking for the 1 screw that holds the ring/bezel, but instead I have this (see pics). The flat-head brass color screw was covered with plaster before I exposed it. Any ideas on how to remove/replace this light? is it an older model? or just a bad install job? this is going to be my second summer as a pool owner, any help would be appreciated.

It appears that the retaining ring was plastered over.

Once you chip it out, it is likely to not look real good.

Most of those lights are held in by a retaining ring with one screw towards the top. The retaining ring swings down when the screw is removed and the light comes out of the niche. Hard to say how yours is set up as the retaining ring appears plastered in. I sense you are digging your self a hole by trying to remove this prior to the time you are ready to do a complete replaster job.
