Thank you for the well wishes folks! Here it is today, still a work in progress. I am doing the landscaping myself. The other end is looking really rough under the deck, the old gate on the street side, the fence there, the peeling gray paint on the garage. We have just so much to do, but I just keep plugging away. I'll take some more shots of the disaster you don't see. 
This is the view from our kitchen/and the deck on the back of the house. So we focused on what we see the most. My husband took a week off from work and fixed our filter, cleaned it, replaced the sand, and we are over the hump and now in sparkle city with a lot of you other folks. It feels so awesome to not have to slam anymore, lol!
