I have had my 11k gunite pool for two years now my salt level is still over 4,200 and has been ever since the PB dumped in the 9 or so bags of salt. I’ve tried draining about 5” of water out of the pool plus I have grandkids who splash out a lot of water and yet my salt level does not drop at all. I use an automatic acid dispenser so I am not dumping acid in the pool and I have my SWG set to 40%. My cell says about 4,600 my Taylor test kit say 4,200.

The acid you are adding and the fill water used for makeup due to evaporation adds salt. My salinity slowly rises also. Monitor your CH level.

Marty, I use no more than 3 gallons of acid for the entire year with my dispenser and I would assume my fill water which is LV water so that should be minimal. the numbers I am showing have been the same of higher ever since they added salt to the pool, even \with me draining 5 or 6 inches out last year.

Wow. Not sure how you get by with 3 gallons of acid a year. I use at least twice that amount for half the pool volume.

Salt is added. So however it is being added, it is.

EDIT -- remember that the K1766 test is measuring chlorides. That is not all from NaCl. Other chlorides count too.

Marty, my dispenser keeps my PH in line all the time, I use about 3 gallons a year (maybe a bit more) of 32%, diluted 1 - 1. I love the fact that I do not need to dump large amounts of acid in at a time.

And your TA is sky high.

You must get copious amounts of calcium scale from the SWCG.
