Trying to eliminate yellow dust from bottom of tiny pool

I have an 8.5x5.5 ft Intex soaking pool until me and my wife save enough for an inground. We're in Florida so it helps beat the heat. The problem is we continue to get a yellowish fine dust all over the pool's bottom after a week of changing the water. I'm not sure if it's algae or pollen or dirt. There's a few palm trees from the neighbor next to it but full sun otherwise. We are running a 1,000 gph pump 6 hours a day, use 2 chlorine tabs in a floater and the filter does not appear to be in need of replacing. Just took pics and chlorine tabs still have life at the time. We have also been using a pool vac every few days. This comes back quickly. Please let me know what can be done. Too much trouble to keep draining and cleaning. It's about 600 gallons. Thanks.

Welcome to TFP! Looks like algae to me. Unless the pool is less at 3,000 gallons, we would recommend doing a SLAM Process. The SLAM Process replies on a properly elevated FC level (based on the CYA) as noted on the FC/CYA Levels to kill the algae. You do require a proper test kit such as a TF-100 or Taylor K-2006C to properly maintain the required levels.

If you have any questions about the SLAM Process let us know. Also be sure to see our Pool Care Basics to learn more.

Hate to have you drain and clean it out again, but it might be best to do that, and then make sure you're chlorinating with the proper amount of chlorine and have the right amount of stabilizer (CYA) in the pool.
