Trouble locating or finding or even identifying rubber gasket and ring

Would you believe me if I told you it was the o rings for the drain plugs on the pump basket? The ones in the kit seemed big, so I put some smaller ones on that I had, and now it’s holding prime. That freaking simple. Unbelievable.

So let this be a lesson to all, don’t buy the knockoff o ring kit. Three of the o rings did not fit properly.

Thank you everyone so much for helping me to troubleshoot and figure out this whole thing. Pool is up and running beautifully and quietly, I just tested and balanced my pool using my TF-100 test kit purchased from TFP.

I honestly don’t think I’ll ever buy a house with a pool again, but I can’t say it’s a bad thing to learn new skills. I’ll use my knowledge to one day help others, I hope.

I do want a hot tub in my next home, hoping some of this knowledge is transferable to spas.
