A couple times in the last year my pool equipment has tripped a fuse (during freeze). Luckily I noticed that the pump was not on. Is there something I can do to let me know that the pool is not running (weather in program notification, smarthome add-on, etc)?

T in a flow switch, like used in the SWGs, that trigger an alarm, light, horn, whatever you want when the switch is not closed.
Depending on which home automation system you already have, there are several power alarm options that you could use. If it's convenient you could wire one on the load side the the pool breaker and it would alarm when it sees no power.
