Trim piece on stair Gasket coming off

Hi, I had my liner replaced two years ago and now either a trim or an edge of the stair gasket is coming off. I am attaching two pics. Algae and debris are getting in the slotted area, but I could remove it if I brushed it hard.

Does anyone know if this is just trim and no problem or if this is integral to the watertight seal?

Thanks for any help/insight.
Chris

Hey Chris !!! It should be excess gasket material. Most are never trimmed perfect and take a few year to let go. I never even knew it was there until mine started doing the same. Since then I’ve seen a handful of these exact posts. You can gently pull off the rest, but I cut mine, being a wuss, and left the rest. More came off the next year and I cut that too.

Found one. Could be excess liner or gasket.
