Well we didn't have time to seal the concrete pavers on Friday.

A few berries fell on the deck and seem to have stained it in some spots....:mad::mad:

Now I have to deal with the stains before we put the polymeric sand tomorrow and seal everything on Tuesday.

Turns out there is always something in the always something basket...I'm just so annoyed...

Worse case is we have a bunch of extra pavers so we will can swap em out... but that's a job.. oh well

Got time to buy this stuff - Dry-Treat | HANAFINN Oxy-Klenza

Ever consider sealing the stone? Dry-Treat makes lots of great products that will blow-up your budget even more ;) Best product for sealing stone before it's placed is Dry-Treat 40SK. Super expensive stuff but supposedly works well. Dry-Treat Stain Proof Original is good for post installation sealing.

Also, consider removal or serious pruning of that Texas Madrone (that's what it looks like) or else those berries will continue to be a nuisance....

Thanks for the tip. Yeah, we have prosoco slx100 ready to seal the stone but didn't get to it in time.

I can't remove the two trees because they are huge and block the view of the power lines.

Prosoco makes great products too but they are hard to find (at least in my neck of the woods!).

Well, if it is a Texas Madrone, then those berries are edible. You just need a few nice birds to come along and help eat them. Of course, that would lead to a different problem

If the berry stains are still an issue, try some OxiClean. It's just sodium carbonate and sodium peroxycarbonate, so basically nothing more than soda ash and peroxide. It's perfectly safe to use on stone (rinse well) and the peroxide will help oxidize any berry stains. You can get that stuff at any supermarket or Walmart.

Thanks for the tip! I'm gonna go pick some up. It's actually concrete and not stone - but we will see if it works on the berry stains.

Is that any better? I can't tell from the picture...

What I usually do for OxiClean is pre-wet the surface and then lightly and evenly sprinkle the powder on the wet surface with a little extra on the stain. I then let it sit for a few minutes as the powder moistens (sometimes I mist it with the hose to help stay moist). Finally I scrub the area with a stiff Tampico brush (nylon works too) to try to develop a little foam. Let it sit for another 5-10 minutes and then rinse thoroughly. Basically you want to keep the area wet and give it a good scrub.

Hope it works for you.
