A few weeks ago I posted that I was only adding 1 qt of 10% and every one responding advised it wasn't enough.

Three weeks ago on my Sunday morning test
FC 1.2
CC .6
ph 8.0
TA 200
CYA 48
temp 85

I added over 1 1/2 gals. of Muriatic acid over the last 3 weeks and 2 weeks ago I installed a 28' triangle sun sail.

FC 2.8
CC .2
PH 7.8
TA 140
CYA 43
Temp 83

I was still only adding 1 qt of 10% every evening, but after my last post, 3 days after these tests I started adding 3 qts nightly. My TA is coming down and so is my temps from the sun sail

Last weekend I added 2 more 28' triangle sun sails giving the pool roughly 75% shade at peak sun.

FC 4.6
CC .2
PH 8.0
TA 130
CYA 40
temp 82

added another pound of stabilizer doing the sock routine.

The sun sails are keeping the temps down, even though it's been above 100 every day. Sun burn is way down for all the grandkids.

Today's test

FC 7.0
CC .2
PH 8.0
TA 120
CYA 45
Temp 82

I'm doing all my testing roughly 9 am Sunday mornings. Yesterday afternoon I noticed the pool has a bit of a chlorine taste so I'm thinking the sun sails could be keeping more chlorine from being burned so I'm gonna add only 2 qts nightly and see how it works out on next weeks test.

On the 1 1/2 gallons of muriatic acid, I have added 1/2 gallon after doing my Sunday test and it knocks the PH down to the low 7 range and the waterfall brings it back up after a week.

What test kit are you using?
With CYA tests in the 40s. (Assuming not pool store tests) count your CYA as 50. So your target FC is 6-8 never lower than 4ppm.
Test FC daily to every other day until you are confident on additions.
As you add muriatic acid your TA will drop, slowing down the PH rise a bit.
With waterfall, obviously you will still have fairly quick PH rise. Unless you can turn it off except when you want it?

I have the Taylor K-2006C test kit

I can control the waterfall at the pump and the weir with valves

Got the 3 sails from Amazon. $320 for all 3. Roughly 60 bucks at Home Depot for the hardware. My pool is boxed in with oaks so it was fairly easy to attach everything. You need not have a perfect triangle attachment, like trees, posts or facia board. The secret to getting em tight is get em taunt with a tie down rachet strap and get em tight with the turnbuckle.

I'll post pics after work today.

Everytime I've attempted to post a picture from my Google Pixel 3 phone, it's rejected for being too large for the server. I've posted many pictures on other sites.
Maybe @Leebo can help us with that one. Thanks for the info. :goodjob:
