Hi all. I'm sure this is covered somewhere in the abyss of past threads(if it was, I apologize. I looked and didn't find).
We purchased a home with an existing pool and I'm at a loss as to how to find the details on the salt chlorination system. This is a Haywiod/ Goldmine control system with a t15 cell. Unfortunately, my diagnostic button displayed content doesn't match up with the only manual that I found. I'm pretty sure the cell needs replacement, as even after cleaning...I have those sold salt and inspection lights.
Suggestions please.

In the left side bar or towards the bottom of any forum page is the TFP Wiki link.

Scroll down to the Hayward section.

How are you testing the salt ?

Whats the date on the cell?

Thanks for the wiki directions!

Currently testing salt with strips. I am at 3200 ppm, which should be in the right range.
The Cell is Sun faded.
I think the cell is 2021, according to the dates from the owner.
Where can I find that detail?

Strips are a guess at best. Order up a Taylor k1766. If you don't have a full taylor kit already, you'll need one to stay out the pool stores. The K2006C (amazon) and TFpro (tftestkits.net) both have salt options that include the K1766.

Should be labeled on the cell, probably on the bottom.

This is the basic information we need to know in diagnosing a problem:
  • Report all diagnostic readings when you..
    • Move the switch from auto to off and check all of the readings.
    • Move the switch back to auto and recheck the readings.
    • Move the switch to off for a minute and then back to auto and recheck the readings.
  • What are the first seven characters of the cell and box serial numbers?
  • What is the actual salinity and how are you measuring it?

If the cell is worn out and not producing once you figure this all out, then the Circupool RJ series is a good buy in comparison to a new T15 cell from Hayward. For about $300 more than the T15 itself you can move to Circupool which is an easy swap, including the fact that the RJ cell fits into the same spot as the T15 cell did using the same unions.
